Bill Identity (BID) has appointed Australian media manager Peter Tonagh as non-executive chairman starting today.
Peter is currently the chairman of Sydney-based analytics firm Quantium and the former lead independent director for Village Roadshow. He is also the chairman of a non-profit media organization, Bus Stop Films, and a councilor for the Australian Film Television and Radio School.
Previously, Peter was the former CEO of Foxtel and News Corp Australia after serving as Chief Operating Officer for both companies.
According to Bid, the appointment comes as it seeks to become a major player in the management of utility bills. This is followed by U’s most recent purchase. . K. . -based energy management software business Optima Energy.
Peter will replace Geoff Kleemann, who acted as interim chairman. However, he remains a non-executive director of the company.
« Bid is a rapidly growing technology company with the potential to become a global leader in its industry. I am very excited to join the company as it accelerates its international growth strategy following the recent acquisition of Optima, « he told the market on Monday.
In particular, he recently led a consortium to rescue the Newswire service, AAP, which is now a nonprofit.
Managing Director Guy Main believes Peter will bring a wealth of business experience to the team.

In today’s market, Bid is up 2. 11 percent and trade at $ 1. 21 per share at 12:03 p.m. AEDT.
