If you pardon the pun, one of the most bizarre trends in the very bizarre TikTok app is the sudden resurgence the popularity of the one-hit miracle « How Bizarre ».

The song, originally released in 1995 by New Zealand group OMC, has been a staple of the app for nearly two decades since its release and serves as the punchline for a number of different trends.

And for good reason. The song is just so damn cute, filled with the catchiest pop hooks, and is captured by a chorus that is sung with a noticeable wink.

But now the mania of « How Bizarre » has gone one step further: A group of gifted Australian musicians have teamed up for Like A Version and performed their own version of the classic.

The supergroup consists of Alice Ivy, Allday and Odette, each titan on its own. So it’s not very surprising that their cover is a one-sided, beautiful thing that pays real respect to the original and at the same time lets the essence of the song shine through … well, bizarre.

Let’s just hope this is more likely is the beginning than the end of OMC mania. Check it out and Alice Ivy’s performance of her track « I’ll Find It » below.
