LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA: A young girl was stabbed to death in a violent incident with four other underage girls at a Walmart in Louisiana over the weekend.
The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 23 , said the sheriff’s office of the municipality of Calcasieu in a statement on Facebook. The statement went on to say that a fight between five girls between the ages of 12 and 15 took place on a Walmart off Highway 14 in Lake Charles.
The four underage girls allegedly stole knives from the store with whom the 15-year-old was stabbed. She was taken to a local hospital where she died of her injuries. The grueling fight likely started in a movie theater before being stabbed at Walmart, Chief Deputy Stitch Guillory told KPLC news channel.
Among the four girls are two 13-year-olds, one 12 and the other 14. All four girls were arrested and sent to the juvenile detention center, the sheriff’s office said. One of the girls was charged with second degree murder and the other three with second degree murder.
Tony Mancuso, Sheriff of the Calcasieu Township, said in a press conference on Sunday January 24th that this was the third murder case Adolescents in the last six months and described the rise in crime among minors as a « parenting problem ». « This is not something we can monitor our way out of, » said Mancuso. « I just don’t think this is a police matter. This is a parenting issue. »

Footage of the incident was posted live on Facebook and Instagram and showed a girl armed with a knife as the victim approached and attacked her. Police later released a surveillance picture of the girl, who is one of the 13-year-olds when she fled the store to track her down after the knife stab. The videos showed the group of girls escaped from the store in a getaway car when one of them yelled, “I just stabbed someone in Walmart.” One of them can be heard saying: « We just stabbed this b *** h in their heart. We don’t give f ** k. «
The authorities have not yet confirmed who was driving the car. Originally, the police were looking for the 13-year-old in a Facebook post because of the knife stab when she tried to track her down The other three girls were not named. The victim’s identity was not made public.
