A second round of tourism vouchers is on sale in South Australia and interstate travelers can request this time.
The vouchers offer $ 100 for accommodation in central Adelaide and $ 50 for accommodation in the suburbs of the city or in regional centers.
They go online starting Tuesday, with successful applicants having to travel by the end of March, and cost the government more than $ 2 million.
The majority will be available to South Australians, some also to people from other states.
« The first round of coupons earned our state’s economy $ 10 million. Tens of thousands of discounted nightly bookings give people more time and money to spend on experiences, « said Premier Steven Marshall.
« With an additional round of interstate travelers who we know have more than domestic spending, and the midsummer vacation season, this incentive comes at just the right time to further boost tourism businesses and create jobs create. «
Opposition leader Peter Malinauskas, however, said the government failed to extend the coupons to restaurants, tours and attractions.
« Our tourism and hospitality sector has been badly hit by the pandemic and the government is once again unable to fully support this critical industry, » said Malinauskas.
