West Coast Eagle Tim Kelly posted a video on Instagram showing a fire threatening his home in Gosnells.
« I have the sprinklers and everything is on, » Kelly said as the flames burned right behind his border fence.
Kelly’s partner Caitlin Miller later released an update saying the couple’s home was « safe for the time being ». .
Perth Motorplex is threatened by a raging bush fire that has already devastated parts of the Kwinana town’s landfill.
Staff and members of the public have reportedly been evacuated from the Ratcliffe Road waste disposal facility and the Western Power substation.
People in the area have been warned to avoid the landfill as there is dangerous material in the air due to the fire.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Fire and Rescue Services said infrastructure throughout the highly industrialized area was directly threatened, with parts of the landfill and a number of other facilities already falling victim to the runaway flames.
An emergency bushfire warning has been issued for the area bounded by Anketell Road, Rockingham Road, Thomas Road and McLaughlan Road in Postans at 4am. 30 o’clock.
Residents have been advised that they are in danger and that there is imminent danger to life and homes as the fire has already skipped Abercrombie Road.
The bush fire is out of control and unpredictable and moves at 1 km / h in a southeast direction.
So far, around 70 acres of land have been burned down, and 90 firefighters, emergency services and volunteer teams are on site.
DFES updated their bushfire alarm in Kwinana to state it is now too late to leave.

Megan Renee was driving home when she pulled up to look at the fire that was blazing through Gosnells.
Many people had the same idea of jumping out of their cars and filming the fire while flames near land forced an elderly village to evacuate its residents and isolate them from the public.
« There were a lot of people who drove by just looking shocked and worried and helpless. There’s smoke everywhere and I’m covered in it, ”she said.
« The retired residents looked shocked and scared. It was very sad to see that they had to go through something like this. ”
A DFES spokeswoman said the Western Australian crews were very careful and would attribute the large warning area due to the risk of a change in wind conditions.
« The winds are changeable and gusty, so we are very careful with this fire front, » she said.
“Parts of the landfill are already on fire . . . and it’s very close to Perth Motorplex so it’s a high risk area, ”she said.
The fire comes less than 24 hours after Saturday’s Nitro Slam Drag Racing event – the first authentic drag racing meeting on the racetrack since Bikie boss Nick Martin was shot dead in a gangland execution.
