The Ministry of Health has confirmed that the Collie man who yesterday returned a « very weak » positive COVID-19 result is a historic case.
The 30-year-old man who had recently returned to Collie had returned to Australia from Poland and had been quarantined for 14 days in a Melbourne hotel.
On his return to Collie, he was under the frame retested at Vic Health’s aftercare after quarantine.
It returned a very weak positive result sometimes seen in people with old, recovered infections.
In a statement, the department said the Mann does not pose a threat to the health of the population and was not included in the WA statistics as a positive case.
UPDATE: Both boys were found safe and well.
