Two men were charged with allegedly sending « racially charged » messages on social media to NRL star Latrell Mitchell in South Sydney.
Mitchell told the NRL Integrity Unit earlier this week that he had numerous I received offensive and « racially charged » social media messages.
The Integrity Unit passed these complaints on to police, who arrested a 22-year-old Taree man and a 25-year-old Lake Munmorah man on Friday.
Both men were charged with using a transportation service to threaten, molest, or cause crime and were given bail to appear in NSW courts next month.
It comes after Mitchell was hit with an NRL four-game suspension in the game against Wests Tigers last weekend on a dangerous contact charge.
