UPDATE: Ergon crews working to fix an electrical fault have reduced the number of affected customers from 737 to six properties.
Initially, the fault affected 10 suburbs in the Whitsundays region, including Proserpine , Strathdickie, North Gregory, Mount Julian, Hamilton Plains, Gregory River, Gregory, Foxdale, Crystal Brook, and Bloomsbury.
It has since been reduced to Proserpine, with six customers still without power due to a damaged pole.
Previously: A power outage provided power to more than 700 customers in 10 suburbs in the Whitsunday region.
The Ergon Energy crews are currently in the process of finding and correcting the error that occurred around 6:37 a.m.
There are 737 customers in Proserpine, Strathdickie, North Gregory, Mount Julian, Hamilton Plains, Gregory River, Gregory, Foxdale, Crystal Brook and Bloomsbury.
