A police spokesman told 7NEWS.com.au that the stations and the surrounding area would be closed from around 1 p.m. after reports of a threat.
At around 2:45 p.m., the police reopened the stations after they did Searched the area and found no signs of danger.
« The police operation at the train stations at Sydney Airport is now complete, » it said in a statement.
It is unclear whether the train lines are still affected or whether they are working normally again.
Train traffic on the T8 line between Central and Turrella stations was suspended for almost two hours.
