Crystal Palace scored twice in the second half through forward Wilfried Zaha, leaving Tyrick Mitchell behind to secure a 3-2 win over Aston Villa in an entertaining Premier League game at Selhurst Park.
Defender Mitchell bundled the winning goal in the 84th minute after the cross from Eberechi Eze to 3-2 after Zaha had made it 2-2.
Villa striker Anwar El-Ghazi had it in the first half Made it 2-1 to the visitors after skipper John McGinn’s start was canceled by Christian Benteke’s header.
The result denied Villa a double in the first division against Palace since the 1980/81 season, when the Birmingham-based team won the league title.
Roy Hodgson’s Palace is 13th with 44 points, two places behind Villa with 49th. Palace will host Arsenal on Wednesday, while Villa travel to Tottenham Hotspur.
