CM – Ipswich Town gives Suffolk superstar Sheeran the squad number for the new season

The Ipswich Town-supporting superstar Ed Sheeran has received a squad number from the Blues for the new season.

Sheeran, who, through his sponsorship of the club for the coming season, has been on the front of the blues home, – Away and women’s jerseys will also have his name on the back of a jersey after receiving the jersey with the number 17 on the club official’s squad list.

The number is associated with the musician’s birthday the he is celebrating on February 17th, while Sheeran’s engagement could be expanded even further, with plans to invite him to the official team photoshoot.

Sheeran was a regular on Portman Road prior to the March 2020 shutdown and he did not sponsor just the club’s jerseys with the logo for its new tour, it also brought the club worldwide attention when it streamed an appearance from Portman Road worldwide on its TikTok channel.

« This is really crazy , Is not it! » said Sheeran. « When Ipswich told me I thought you were kidding, but I love the idea.

 » I think this is going to be a great season and I’m honored to be a part of it. I just hope this squad number is only ceremonial because I want us to move up and that won’t happen when I play! « 

 » We saw pictures of him wearing the 17 shirt, when he was in the club to perform his TikTok concert at Euro 2020, so Paul and I talked about it and agreed to offer Ed the chance for this squad number.

Manager Paul Cook added: « Isn’t it great for the club that we have someone of Ed’s stature to support his local team.

Sheeran is now joining an exclusive men’s club to create Town No. 17 shirt to wear to the Keanan Bennetts, Danny Rowe, Kevin Bru, Jordan Graham, Andros Townsend, Andy Drury, Jack Colback, Dean Bowditch, Wayne Brown and especially Simon. belong to Milton.

Sheeran’s name and number will appear on the back of home and away programming this season.
