Dynasty is returning to The CW tonight (9 / 8c) after a literal calendar year, and although Elaine Hendrix admits she « needs a flowchart to keep track of what’s going on, » she also insists that the wait for season 4 was worth the wait.
« I think with no bias, just looking at the material and the mood, this is really the best season, » Alexis Carrington-Colby’s cast told TVLine. « The cast has settled down, we’re all very closely connected, and the writers had to get really creative because of the pandemic. There’s a lot more personal interaction between the characters. There’s not that much glitz and glamor to distract from. But at the same time, it’s still Dynasty – the clothes are better, the cars are better, we all fly high. «
Season four of Dynasty is full of major life events for the Carringtons, starting with Fallon’s and Liam’s long-awaited wedding. But while Fallon will almost certainly advance into the Bridezilla’s territory, Hendrix insists that Alexis will show her best behavior. Kind of.
« Alexis loves her children and she fights so hard for them, » says Hendrix. « At the same time, she can’t help but do things about her. She always thinks she’s helping, and in her way, she is. It may not be best for other people, but she tries. She’s both the best of them Worst as well as worst of the best. «
The new season will also feature some unexpected bedfellows, including Alexis and Dominique, a dynamic Hendrix for the audience to enjoy.

« Alexis would still do anything in high style, » she says. “Do I have to wear a mask? It will be set with diamonds. Do I need to shop from home? I’ll fly clothes in wherever I can. But at the same time I wonder if she would have taken it seriously at all? And I hate to say that because I definitely did, but you never know with someone like Alexis. “
